Exemptions to Jury Duty

Any juror lawfully notified who without reasonable excuse fails to be in attendance at the court in obedience to such notice, or who files a false claim of exemption from jury service, can be held in contempt, and may be fined up to 100 dollars and/or face up to 3 days confinement in the County Jail.


If you have an exemption and wish to claim it, fill out the information on the Jury Exemption Statement part of your jury summons. Sign your name and date, and return it to the Municipal Court Jury Room prior to the date you are summoned to report for jury service.

You may also mail the form using first class mail. If mailing the form, place the completed Jury Exemption statement in a standard size envelope and affix first class postage. Write the following address on the envelope face:
